Out of Darkness Slowly © 2015 Fur Dixon, Fur Dixon Publishing BMI, John Nikolai, John Nikolai Publishing, BMI I wondered where you’d been, I was getting kind of worried Look what the cat dragged in, back to the shadows you scurried Out of darkness slowly, come into the light Out of darkness slowly, it’s been a long nightmarish night You stepped onto a train, it was departing Union Station Your feet sank into sacred ground Tomb of a crossed out Tongva Nation Out of darkness slowly, the dark and light collide Out of darkness slowly, it’s gonna be a bumpy ride Hold on, Hold on, Hold on, Hold On Morning comes too soon, in blinding daylight bright and brutal And you’re still howling at the moon, but clinging to the night is futile Out of darkness slowly, eyes adjusting to the light Out of darkness slowly, maybe it’s gonna be allright Out of darkness slowly, high time to face the dawn Out of darkness slowly, before your light is gone Before your light is gone. Before your light is gone Hold On Hold On Before your light is gone.

Cod'ine 03:57
Cod'ine ©1964 Buffy Sainte Marie I've got a craving in my belly, got a shaking in my head I feel like I'm dying, Lord I wish I was dead If I live 'til tomorrow, that'll be a long time But I'll reel and I'll fall and I'll rise on Cod'ine And it's real, yes it's real, One more time. Well when I was a young girl, I learned not to care About whiskey and from it, I often did swear My mother and my father said whiskey's a curse But the fate of their baby, is a million times worse And it's real, yes it's real, One more time. Stay away from the pool halls, and the taverns uptown Stay away from the man pushing Cod'ine around Stay away from the stores where the remedy you'll find For better your pain, than be caught on Cod'ine And it's real, yes it's real, One more time. You'll forget you're a woman, you'll forget about men Try it one time, and you'll try it again You'll forget about life, you'll forget about time And you'll spend all your days as a slave to Cod'ine And it's real, and it's real, and it's real, yes it's real, And it's real, (Yes it's real) And it's real (Yes it's real) And it's real, Yes it's real. And it's real, (Yes it's real) Yes it's real (Yes it's real) And it's real, Yes it's real. And it's real, and it's real One more time.

Daydream Walking © 2013 Fur Dixon, Fur Dixon Publishing BMI. Ric Taylor, Space Canoe Publishing, ASCAP I step out into the dawn, troubles are long gone I've got my daydream walking with me I've laid down my heavy load, unraveled my twisted road I've got my daydream walking with me I've got my soul, I've got my soul It brings eternal comfort to me I have but one desire, to stoke this wildfire I've got my daydream walking with me I’m leaving the past behind, wide open to all I find I've got my day dream walking with me Out here where the wind blows free, guardian of all I see I've got my daydream walking with me I've got my soul, I've got my soul It brings eternal comfort to me I have but one desire, to stoke this wildfire I've got my daydream walking with me I sense your presence near, you keep my pathway clear You are my daydream walking with me You beckon me through the dark Your beacon ignites my spark You are my daydream walking with me You’re in my soul, You’re in my soul You bring eternal comfort to me I have but one desire, to stoke this wildfire You are my daydream walking my daydream walking I've got my daydream walking with me.

Baby's on fire, Better throw her in the water Look at her laughing, Like a heifer to the slaughter Baby's on fire, And all the laughing boys are bitching Waiting for photos, Oh the plot is so bewitching Rescuers row row, Do your best to change the subject Blow the wind blow blow, Lend some assistance to the object Photographers snip snap, Take your time she's only burning This kind of experience, Is necessary for her learning If you'll be my flotsam, You could be half the man you used to They said you were hot stuff And that's what Baby's been reduced to.. Juanita and Juan, Very clever with maracas Making their fortunes, Selling second-hand tobaccos Juan dances at Chico's, And when the clients are evicted He empties the ashtrays, And pockets all that he's collected But Baby's on fire, And all the instruments agree that Her temperature's rising, But any idiot could see that.

IF I WAS FREE ©2008 Fur Dixon, Fur Dixon Publishing, BMI. Ric Taylor, Space Canoe Music, ASCAP. If I was free, Would I be standing here today, Or would I just blow away, Nothing left to hold me down, If I was free, Would life lay heavy down on me, The way it does most every day, Such a sorry price to pay I wanna run, Back to my old home when I was young, Some rope a plank, a tall oak tree, Bare feet, upside down, the breeze, If I was free, free A dreamer can lose, his grip and float away And if I go too far –will you call me back again? If I was free, I would rise up on the dawn, I could let bygones be gone, Walk through any open door, If I was free, I could face a world that frightens me, And I wouldn’t look away, When my heart just had to break A dreamer can lose, his grip and float away And if I go too far –will you call me back again? If I was free Would you keep the porch light on for me, When I’m out wandering alone Would you welcome me back home?

Get That Saddle Off My Back ©1989 Fur Dixon, Fur Dixon Publishing, BMI. Dave Evans, BMI. They braid my tail put feathers in my hat, A jeweled saddle sits upon my back I prance around the ring and you know, That I’ll do anything, for the show Oh the fame, oh the luxury, all the applause, Isn’t what its cracked up to be You see the metal on my tongue drives me insane But the show must go on, so I hide the pain They crack the whip to keep my ass in line But the ringing in my ears, says freedom must be mine, all mine All the plans, all the schemes, all of the dreams Get that saddle off my back, I ain’t never coming back I said get that saddle off my back I ain’t never coming back, NO! Somewhere on the plain, something’s calling my name Somewhere on the plain, someone’s calling my name I bolted off that boxcar now I’m free My head up to the stars and I whinny I run for miles through the barren land A bucking bronco I will make my stand Oh what a night, oh it’s not a dream, oh what a scream Get that saddle off my back, I ain’t never coming back I said get that saddle off my back I ain’t never coming back, I said get that saddle off my back, I ain’t never coming back I said get that saddle off my back Cause I, ain’t, ever, coming, back.

Morning Comes, No Warning © 2012 Fur Dixon, Fur Dixon Publishing, BMI Morning comes, no warning Drifting softly on foamy sea When my mind had created A terrible tempest to swallow me I was so frightened, Sinking down ever more Creatures of the deep inviting me To follow them to Davy’s door Gone, gone, little darling Swept away, to distant shore Little bird who sings so sweetly Never to hear her anymore Will I breathe again? Will this be the wreck of me? Golden treasure locked forever At the bottom of the sea I will rise again. From the sandy bottom floor, With your loving hand to guide me, I am free once more, with your loving hand to guide me, I am free once more.
